California legislature passes bill to prevent brain injuries

Brain injuries can occur at any age from a variety of causes. But brain injuries in children may be particularly concerning. Since brain development is not fully completed until adulthood, younger victims of brain injury can suffer a number of long term cognitive and behavioral issues that might not manifest in older individuals.

Even though traumatic brain injury, or TBI, affects thousands of Americans every year, it is not fully understood. A great deal of research has been conducted in attempts to shed light on the mysteries of TBI and to promote better patient outcomes for those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.
